Back axle clunking
Winter is approaching and I have a few jobs to tackle on my 1.7 Ital based LWB bundle of joy. First is to sort the nasty clunk from the backend on drive take-up; the prop-shaft spider is ok by the way. I have a spare axle but suspect that it is from a 1.3. Can I safely use it with the 1.7 drive train? If not, any idea where I can get a new/recon 1.7 diff? Beware all you helpful folk out there, I have other problems that will need advice to solve.
Thanks in advance, AlanTags: None

I changed my diff from 1.3 to 1.7 ratio supplied by Coventry transmissions tel. no.0203 635054. I don?t know if they are still trading as it was a few years ago. I had a not dissimilar problem but from the front of car which turned out to be loose shock absorber bolt. You might want to check all mountings before committing to diff change
