  • Hands off your ipod, police tell drivers

Article in todays Daily Telegraph page 12
"Driving while using an ipod falls into the category of not being in proper control of a vehicle."
Sounds like they will issue points not just a fine.

Does anyone need to worry? If my observations are anything to go by, precious few pay any notice to the mobile phone law around here. And there are still those who don't wear a seat belt! And as for unlicensed motorbikes and quads - if you report them you're told that they can't chase them in case they have an accident!! Call me a grumpy old cynic if you want.....

But Dave, Andy Rogers got fined in Espana for having earphones in. It seemed harsh but it's the same thing.

I'm with Dave, the number of people that just don't care and drive around with a mobile phone pressed against their ear and not wearing a seat belt. Police only care about entrapment with speed cameras. I am a grumpy old git.

I can think of nothing more distracting than driving with kids fighting in the back seat. Legally you can't pull over on the Motorway hard shoulder to resolve the dispute.
          When will that become illegal?
