I have broken my English Yew dash beyod repair. Local wood merchants in my arae want to sell me 10 feet of wood which might be just a little too much for my needs.

Can anyone suggest a way out, where I can buy a nice piece of wood about of about 3 feet 3inches by about 10 inches?

    Yours hopefully

Europa sell various dash blanks although most are a printed finish.

      Re: Dashboard

If you can repair the current dash strongly enough, you could consider adding a veneer on top.

If you go this route, it might be worth asking a specialist to do the actual gluing down - they'll typically use a vacuum bag for this. Shouldn't cost much, and then you can get on with the enjoyable part - refinishing!

Yandles in Martock sell all kinds of wood. Mate of mine built a replica electric guitar using wood brought from them.

There is a very posh wood merchant in Croydon ( did you not live near ) that sells wood for posh jobs. I can find the name if you are still looking ?

                You could try these people:

                www.goodtimber.com

They do all sorts of wood species, and you can request whatever size you need.

hi, if it doesn't have to be the genuine article i bought a piece of laminate flooring & made a perfect cheap dash for under £5 from b&q, they will sell you 1 piece only if required you don't have to buy a box full & variety of colours etc is plentiful, exact thickness as well no planing needed. your probably cringeing at the thought but if you like the end result go for the real thing, just an idea, you either like it or hate it..mj
