Just thought I would point out that the bleeding obvious has happened and I needed to start a thread just to draw everyone's attention to it, just in case anyone had missed it.

Re: Bleedin Obvious!!!
I presume that is what is being referred to. I took a load of crap postings off the other day and I think the webmaster musrt have done some more work to block these annoying people but I haven't had confirmation. Anyway, if anyone notices any more problems please email me direct as I don't log in every day.
Cheers

Re: Bleedin Obvious!!!
Perhaps we should temporarily block new users until a 'real' cure for the problem is found.
It must be generating hours of work and frustration.
A quick note on the registration page should be enough. It will just stop new people posting and perhaps encourage them to search the site and forum.
If a log can be created of attemted registrations it might be possible to allow those that look OK.

Re: Bleedin Obvious!!!
What we need is a Captcha type thing.A CAPTCHA is a challenge response test used on computers to check if the user is human. A common kind of CAPTCHA that is used on websites requires that the visitor type the letters and numbers of a distorted image. This method is based on the fact that is difficult for computers to extract the text from the image while it is supposedly very easy for humans.
I know they are a pain but its much better than having a spam attack?
They are very common these days because of spammers who create special scripts and programs that automatically submit forms.
