About to fit some new tie bar bushes to my new Berlinetta has anyone got any tips to fit these and set up the suspension

    Re: Tie bar bushes

    Hi Lee,
I replaced my front tie bar bushes with poly types. I must admt that I used a camber/castor gauge at the time. The fiddly bit is when all settings are about correct, then torqueing up the large nuts to correctly compress the little crush ferrule can slightly change the settings. Try to tighten the nuts together, the same amount. The Haynes (Cortina III) manual is a bit of help with this.)
I have done the job twice in my time. The previous set were, in my opinion, fine. My MoT man thought that the nuts were not tight enough and cranked them up very tight "for me"! This flattened, then split, the crush ferrules causing rattling and movement as the suspension moved; hence the further replacement!
I've made it sound tricky-which it isn't. I did the job with the car on it's wheels; removing the tie bar bolts from the bottom wishbone first.

    Good luck with it!
