  • ACTC spec axle/engines boxes

Please see a quote from the ACTC specs for Marlins

    M 6.8.3 Rear axle casing:
    Considered original for the
    purposes of this Regulation.
    • T: Swingaxle IRS as fitted to Herald / etc. used in conjunction
    with Triumph engine and gearbox.
    • TM and M: Any axle as fitted to Marina / Ital ranges including
    commercial.

    This part for the Ts???
(T: Swingaxle IRS as fitted to Herald / etc. used in conjunction
    with Triumph engine and gearbox.)
As a T got to run triumph engine and gearbox no other engines in the engine list ?
Where as a TM or M can run a ford lancia/ fiat bmc units etc?

    Re: ACTC spec axle/engines boxes

Rule M 6.4.1 lists the cylinder blocks allowed. I think rule M 6.8.3 means the rear axle assembly must come from the range of Triumphs listed or the Marina type. You cant go using 2000 Saloon or TR6.
Best to ask Andrew Brown ,andrew(at)andrewkb.net
Ben Caswell probably not the last word on anything here!!

      Re: ACTC spec axle/engines boxes

Know what you are saying Ben, but if you read it there is no mention of other engines when related to the irs triumph axle (the TS), even states----+ used in conjunction
with Triumph engine and gearbox. --
I rang Pete Hart yesterday he said he was going to look into why it is worded in this way, IE what the original compilers had in mind at the time.

        Re: ACTC spec axle/engines boxes

The ACTC spec sheet reflects what was available from Marlin as standard options. The Triumph based kit was only available with Triumph engines. The Marina based kit had the engine options as listed. Hence the difference. Please call me back if you want to discuss.
