    Guys and Girls,
Does anyone feel like helping me (and other first timers) avoid silly costs like nuts and bolts from B&Q by recommending parts suppliers, either internet based or from shows etc

    cheers

    Re: Parts Suppliers

Try a company called industrial fasteners, (INFAST) they sell to the public have a massive range and even have special depots for stainless items, Iknow they have depots in Chesterfield, Sheffield, and Rotherham I suggest you call one of them for a more local branch

        Re: Parts Suppliers

I always use Namrick www.namrick.co.uk. They stock all the common stuff and provide a cheap and quick mail order sevice. Don't even think about buying bolts from places like B&Q as they won't have the correct tensile strength and at the best your car willl fail the SVA and at the worst it could kill you.... Same applies to stainless steel - looks great but NEVER use stainless fastners for load bearing applications.

Little Story - the man who started screwfix sold it to B&Q and agreed a deal where he wouldn't start another business for a few years. Those few years are up and www.toolstation.com is his new site - cheaper than screwfix and free posting on some orders.
got a new hacksaw and rivets from there - with me next day or day after...
