    webber side draft carbs

    Does anyone kno if when fitting a new o ring seal to manifold from carb,is any lubrication required on these neoprene rings ?.
    Also has anyone fitted choke cable to 45 webber carbs as all cold start devise equiptment fitted as standard from new but no cable made from webber !.

    Hi Fred,
    Don't lubricate the "O" rings, it's not unknown for the carb to suck them in on the over-run, 'specially if the gap left is fairly large to allow for movement.
    I use "Misabs" on my Del'Ortos for that reason.
    As for the choke cable, the one I'm using is an origional Marina one with the outer shortened to make the inner longer so that it reached across the two carbs, although I still had to extend the inner as I didn't want to make the outer run too short.

      Thanks for help.
      O rings I have are mounted within a groved case not ones you mentioned but simular.
      Also chock idea may surfise , thanks again.

        Fred, I have three 40 DCOEs on my Sportster, and do have a choke cable. But I never, ever use the choke. Just 3 or 4 pumps of the gas pedal before turning over. Always starts.
