        Mike,
Vintage Car parts doe them. Chrome on brass. Different sizes to suit.

          Mike,
You could also try the end caps found on the floorboard strips of Lambretta's and Vespa's.
Go to ebay and search on "Lambretta end caps" or "vespa end caps". You seem to have a lot of choice.
You will need to research the size of the strip they fit.
          Hope this helps.

            Jon
Thanks for your responses. At £4+ each x 12 they are a tad expensive.
I have seen, and even bought some of the Vespa floor end caps but they are not really a good match for the running board tread strip sold by Woolies.
I suspect Marlin supplied the ones I photographed as they appear on several Hunters I have seen.
I know I could contact Marlin, but their service and prices just put me off.
            But thanks for your suggestion.

            PS
            Are you involved with Autocad?
            Regards
            Mike

              Hi Mike,
Looks like you will need to go to Marlin then. Good luck!!
I used to work for Autodesk selling Autocad and Inventor to the Engineering world but that was back in 2006/2007. I have worked for Solidworks as well and I am now working for PTC selling Pro/E, Windchill and Mathcad.
Have our paths crossed in the past???

Re: Running Board Chrome End caps

                Hi Jon
I prefer to hang on to my arms and legs, so will not give Terry the pleasure of pulling them off.............

I used to manage an office in Cirencester, where we used Autocad, and often received sales emails from Autodesk asking us to upgrade, and contact one Jon Cox!
I often wondered if the two were one and the same? Now I know!

                  Mike,
Not sure if you have sorted this yet but I was surfing the web last night and came across these. Not sure if they would work for your application but thought of you :-)

I will order one to see what the quality is like.

Does Marlin still sell the original type?

                        No.
I asked the same question a couple of months ago and Terry said their supplier stopped making them several years ago. I have tried to find good quality ones, but have found nothing to date.

Have you thought out not putting the strips on and leaving it just painted, I have always removed them from the running boards when I have got a car painted and I was lucky with the Cabrio as they are a pain to polish round and because they are alloy they tarnish.
