  • August-September pitstop magazine

I am very aware that the latest Pitstop magazine, which was due on your doorsteps some two weeks ago, is not yet with you. I need to tell you that this appears to be for reasons outside the control of the MOC and the Committee.

All the usual preparation work for this issue was carried out without any difficulties being apparent, however some 10 days ago we learned of the hospitalisation of the companies M.D but were assured by his assistant that all was in hand. Alarm bells started to ring within the Committee when it was realised that contact with this man was becoming near impossible.

Correspondence was then received by all Committee members last Wednesday indicating that something was seriously amiss at Nimbus Printing, despite the fact that the printing for Keith Howells regarding LEJOG was being carried out.

Eventually we were able to speak to the M.D. who has carried out an initial investigation, and he confirms that there are difficulties that he will resolve if we give him a little time.I understand that a machine has broken down and needs spares from Japan, and his assistant has apparently left the company with no notice and is uncontactable.

Prior to receiving this information from the M.D. and due the the delay/lack of information I had sent them a letter cancelling the MOC work, and I was going to arrange for others to do the printing as Nimbus had appeared to have failed in their part of the Contract. However with this latest information it is clear that we are best to allow them time to resolve their internal difficulties and continue to work for us. The company has served the Club well for the past two/three years and in my opinion should be given a chance to sort things out.

I have asked that they produce , at their cost, a full written explanation of the situation to be sent out with the magazine.

Please understand the situation that the Club is in. Believe it or not (as you will) it is entirely coincidental that this should happen during these troubled times, and is yet another problem which the Committee and I are having to resolve.

If you have friends/MOC members who may not read this please bring it to their attention.

    Thank You

    Lee Hunter - MOC Chairman

I cant help but notice the irony of the situation.
      Communication is so important.
I am sure the printer is doing all he can.

                Re: August-September pitstop magazine

Please note that Dave C stated he is away for the next Pitstop deadline so it has been brought forward to 9th September.

The date in the flyer with Pitstop is wrong.
