Re: Column Stalks
The Marina indicator/wipers stalks unit used parts common to Marinas, some Minis, Landrovers, Allegros, Maxis and what have you. I built mine from pieces bought off ebay. I shortened one stalk and bent it to shape. You can remove the stalk if you drill out where it was centre punched to fix it on. The basic indicator stalk unit can be further customised by dismantling the unit and removing one or other of the detents that hold it in the indicating position, there are two, one is a sprung loaded ball, the other is a stiffly sprung plastic plunger. Cheaper cars like the Marina had both, giving nasty plasticky click when you indicate. The Maxi had only the softly sprung ball, giving a rather more up market and softer feel.
