    Roadster Respray

    I have to share this, please see the following link to some pics of my '84 Roadster (before and after). Work carried out by the QE2 college in Leatherhead for the princely sum of ?575 - prep, materials, the lot. All credit to Dave Carr the man in charge.

    I couldn't believe it was really my car when I arrived to collect it, falling in love all over again ;-)

      Have followed your link and had a look at your pictures. They have done a beautiful job haven't they? Bet your really pleased!

        Hi chris.
        Did they take the panels of the car or was it sprayed as a whole car.
        I bought my Berli last year from a guy who had just had it resprayed, I reckon he paid about a grand for it to be done, it was a bag of $%^&*.There was overspray everywhere, It had not ben prepared properly and the panels were sprayed while still on the car, consiquently all the rubber joins have split, paint is flaking off in patches on the alluminium and where the fuel has spilled a bit on filling up the paint has just come off.
        I am looking to respray the car in the autumn myself ( going from white to black perhaps!!!).
        Any advice on what paint to use etc would be greatful.

          I had to remove all removable parts myself, and as such elected to leave the wings attached - every bolt would have required drilling and it would have been far too much like hard work! I'm glad I didn't bother as the car looks great all the same. It was sprayed in two-pack in pro environment, it was so cheap because they are a charity and only really charge for the materials - the vehicles are workied on by tarinees.

          Previously I was qoted ?1000 for a 'blow over' and about ?2000 for a 'proper' job!

          I think it looks stunning and there wil be some pics on the www site soon now that it is all back together with it's shiny new bits on

              They take anything as far as I know. You need to call the college and ask for Dave Carr - 01372 841147. He will want to see the car first and expect a wait, you may also have leave the car with them for some time (mine took about a month, but no big deal during the winter).
