Why can't I add an Avatar

What in heavens name is an avatar - it sounds like something a Liverpuddlian would say when offering a strong cigarette to someone

Its a picture, graphic or small animation you could add to your user identity. It would appear on the left, along with your username and date etc. Sometimes makes it easier to identify users quickly rather than reading each name.
Some can be very serious like a personal picture, other can be very funny. Yours might be a map of the UK with a trace of the Lejog route.

I immediately thought of each member's car but then of course they would be all pretty much alike then I thought it would be nice to have a photo of each members car somewhere and then realised that if folk are hiding behind unrecognisable User names then there would be no point. Perhaps there should be a picture database of member's cars for those who don't mind letting folk know who they are and what their car looks like

There is a limited amount of info you can add via your profile settings. You could put a picture in your signature (the bit below each of my posts about my roadster)

I think this format can allow more personal pictures but I am not totally familiar with the current version of the software in use.

Hi,
Wandering around the site and my profile I do not seem to be able to insert an avatar! The radio button on the 'Edit Avatar' page does not clear. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm. Thats interesting, I changed my Avatar to something more seasonal today with no problems.

Are you clicking on the 'Use Custom Avatar' button?

That's funny as I have just logged in and low and behold my avatar is now showing and the radio button I couldn't clear is indeed cleared. Thanks to whoever tweaked the tweak!!
