O.K. Long shot but does anyone know where to get the wire from that was used by Marlin to make up the roadster grills?

http://www.wovenwire.co.uk/cargrilles.htm or http://www.themeshcompany.com/acatal...ille_Mesh.html might be what you need Chris but the one above looks perfect

Re: Radiator grill wire
I used the woven S.S. wire that Cameron refers to on my Sportster and Berlinetta. Marlin used the same mesh on my Hunter.
It is not easy to cut but looks the part.

Re: Radiator grill wire
Hi Adrian,
Sorry I haven't been in touch. If your grille is still available I would like to buy it from you. I aim to be going to Stoneligh but not sure which day. At the moment my Roadster engine is still in bits but hope to have it ready. Will you be there on both days?

Re: Radiator grill wire
Hi Adrian,
Just wanted to say thank you for bringing your spare rad grille to Stoneleigh. I hope you were able to sell it in the end?
With regards to the coil-over dampers I will at some stage do a write up on how I did mine for those interested.
It was good to meet you.
Regards,
Chris

Re: Radiator grill wire
My Hunter grill is looking a ‘tad’ weary and in need of a clean-paint-polish job. It’s non-magnetic, and seems quite solid, so I’m ruling out aluminium, thinking polished stainless?
Any advice on how complex it is to remove? i.e. an over-winter project or next Sunday morning before Church? It looks like a lot of masking to repaint, has anyone already tackled this task please.
Cheers,
Colin B

Re: Radiator grill wire
I had this problem recently, So rather than go to all the grief of trying to fit a standard type of grill, I removed the old grill using an angle grinder. carefully pulling out the tangs from the cowl. I then removed the frame and fitted clips from headlamp grill covers, made a new grill to fit flush within it and simply clipped it into place. I now have easy access to the remote fan and the radiator.
