  • watertight windscreen surround

    Hi folks
I have a problem with water coming in between the hood and the windscreen surround whilst driving around in this "Drought"
The seal I have is foam which is about 6mm thick.
    What do other cars have?
Is it just a case of putting on something thicker to squash down more?
Where to get new stuff? Woollies maybe??
Shame I can't get to Stoneleigh as I'm sure I would be able to find something there
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
    Regards
    Bryan

Hi Bryan, I put some of this T section rubber seal on my Berli, this had to be trimmed after glueing to the hood edge.
I bought this at Stoneleigh year before last but, I cant remember who the stall holder was.
      The hood never leaked again.
      Hope this helps.

        Re: watertight windscreen surround

        Hi Bryan,

I have fitted two self adhesive "D" section rubber strips from end to end to the hood section either side of the locating studs, as the hood is clamped down onto the windowscreen, it compresses the seals, since fitting I have had no leaks.
I purchased them from Woolies, they come is different sizes and thickness.
        Cheers
        Stewart

When I got my cabrio the hood needed finishing at the front and as of now I don't have any type of seal was going to wait to stoneleigh to get something. Stewart if it's ok would like to have a look at your seal.

            Hi Stewart
I think your solution sounds the way to go.
            I'll order some from woollies!
            Cheers
