Re: edinburgh trial
Definitely, the boys were gutted we didn't make the Lands End this Easter, however that's when I renewed contact with my Marlin, so not bad.
Not that far looking on Google Earth. Just 'tother side of Manchester just off the Snake Pass.
Trouble is I will have a freshly bored engine begging to be assembled... Perhaps one day off won't matter?

Re: edinburgh trial
One from the Lands End, Easter 2008, on Crackington, one of many I took that day.

And another, just after the farmer had dumped a bucket full of slurry on the hill followed by a couple of (tractor) buckets of water.Smelly and messy but it made thing much more... interesting!

Re: edinburgh trial
Well, despite having just collected my newly bored block, I am going to tear myself away from the Marlin and head South for Bamford Clough on Saturday morning.
If anybody else is going I will be wearing a dirty dayglow yellow jacket, taking lot's of pix, accompanied by two wonderfully behaved boys (I hope).
