Door hinge for swb roadster

Hi everyone

I am in the middle of carrying out total rebuild of my 1988 swb roadster.

Can anyone please advise where I can source a door hinge from please...

Hi Mark,

As far as I am aware the roadster hinge was made in house by Marlin. So unless someone has a spare your best bet would be to get a local engineer to make you one.

It really is only a plate with a bit of tube welded to it. I assume yours seized has snapped across the weld so it may be repairable.

Yes it has snapped across the hinge as you say. The trouble is that it was 14 years ago that the car was taken apart, and I am currently in the miiddle of a total nut and bolt rebuild as I had the chassis galvanised dipped to stop rust, and while stripping the door noticed the end was missing.

I was coming to the conclusion that it was a special part after spending a few hours on the net. But if anyone has a spare I would be grateful.

As Ben says they are very rare, Danny might have one knocking around but if not you will have to take it to a local engineering company and see if they can make one up for you.
