Following my diff change I am almost certainly going the digital route with my speedo. That means I will have the top of the old drive cable exposed under the dash. Normally I would remove or disconnect the whole redundant mechanical cable and blank it off at the gearbox end. This is not an option in my case as there is a transducer about 10” up the cable that supplies a signal to the ECU (14CUX). The trandsducer unit is mounted on the side of the gearbox next to the transmission tunnel, so impossible to access without major strip down.
Does anyone know what thread the speedo uses so I can screw on a blanking cap? Alternatively I could fit a plastic sleeve to protect wiring etc from the rotating inner drive end. Any suggestions welcome. Peter.
