Rather simple stupid question, why does the dashboard have the'cut out to the right of the steering wheel? Is it a throw back to other donor equipt - mine is Sierra based.
Been thinking about it for some time but cannot fathom it.

It is for the Indicator stalk I think, my wife has asked if I can cut our dash out as she struggles to find the existing one which sticks out just under the dashboard.... I have no issue with it but I need to have a look to see what I can do for her.

Is your stalk from the earlier cortina incarnation as with the sierra job the light switch stalk is adjacent but if the dash was behind i think there would be enough space to safely operate the light stalk - thanks for your prompt response

Yes, mine is MK3 Cortina based, indicator stalk circled on attached photo.
