Hi all!
I've been considering replacing my now rather corroded steel wheels with a set of new alloys but I wanted to understand what the correct offset should be.. I have calculated that the offset of my existing wheels is something like 10-12mm and I've always been aware that the existing wheels (fitted by a previous owner) stick out rather a bit at the front (4cm measured against the side of the tyre past the edge of the front wings - the rear wheels portrude 0.5cm past the rear wheel arch).
I don't think this is due to odd camber at the front as I have the adjustable top wishbone and have it setup with a tiny bit of negative camber only. So I was wondering if the existing wheel offset is wrong and buying a set of new wheels with an offset of 30mm or more would be no bad thing.. assuming my maths is correct (a very big assumption!!(
For Ref, tyre wise I am running 195/50 15.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
