LWB extra metal ?

Am I right in assuming the only difference between a SWB and LWB is an extra 6" in the chassis rails under the door ?
Obviously floor boards, prop, tunnel, doors, hood and wings also longer.
What I'm thinking is IN THEORY that during the restoration of a SWB it'd be possible to lengthen the chassis.

Yes you are right.

The older LWB's can be distinguished by a 6" filler panel on the running boards.

This was dispensed with on the newer ones.

Of course I am only commenting on the MK2 variants
