  • Roadster floors

    Hi
I am restoring swb roadster, I am thinking of replacing plywood floors with aluminium, possibly Durbar, whats the best thickness to use.
Also should the transmission tunnel sides be parallel or taper in at the front
    regards neil

    Re: Roadster floors

Transmission tunnel broadens out to suit the gearbox and bell housing. I would suggest minimum 4mm plate, perhaps a bit of reinforcing beneath the seat mounts.

Hi Neil As Steve says 4mm should be ok as that is what Marlin used on the later floor lowering option. If you use checker plate you shouldn't need re-enforcing.
