    Brake servo in-line valve rotation

After discovery of a faulty in-line non-return brake servo valve on my MK3 Cortina 2.0 ltr Pinto.

I decided to renew valve, clips and tubing in one go.
Unfortunally having been distracted away from job for a fortnight and throwing old parts away, I find manual does not state which way round valve goes and if it makes any differance where in-line you place it.
I didnot make a sketch of it either (in a senior moment).
    Can any one advise ?.
    Thanks.

If there's an arrow on it it should point toward inlet manifold. If not try sucking/blowing to see which way it flows, open to manifold.

      Thanks for info.
No there is no arrow on new unit, but tried your idea and confirm one way access. Thanks for correct direction.
Any thoughts on if it matters where in-line it should be ?.

I don't believe position is important, place wherever convenient.

I would say as close to the manifold as you can get it!
