Re: Hi
Welcome. I too am on a rebuild of a Mk1, so yours looks very familiar !
As Scott suggests, why not start a build diary with pictures
BTW, what is the reg/chassis number of your car - would like to know for the database we are building ( PM me or use my home email, address in Pitstop, if you would prefer not to go public)

Re: Hi
Hi, Morgan0208, you've got my baby! Can't tell you how much this car changed my life, and how much I still miss her! She would have been fantastic fun over here in Switzerland, and my kids would have loved her too.
I built her in 1981 I think, took me 3 months, so it was a bit hastily assembled, and has been gradually upgraded over the years. in 1998 I moved to Switzerland and the chances of importing her were minimal, so with a heavy heart, I passed her to a good friend. Looks like she's had to live outside for a while.
I can tell you lots about what was replaced, and what not, if you want to contact me. The engine came from Paul Moorhouses "Bomb", which now has another 2.5l engine in it. The O/D gearbox too, I replaced all bearings and Syncros then. Diff is a 3.27:1 bought new from Dunham and Haynes. It's so sad, I kept every single MoT and Receipt from day one, but somebody has thrown it all away. I will try and upload some pics, if you like! Best, Charles
