This may be a funny time to be dealing with heater fan issues, but the unit on my Hunter seems to be making more than the usual noise when I want to pump cold air down to my feet. It has never been the quietest of devices, but unless it is switched onto the fastest of revs, now it tends to make a tinny resonance noise. After a while it gets on one's pips so-to-speak.
If I could see an easy way to extract the whole unit from the car, I would have it out and strip&clean it, and lube it in the right places. My question is: how do I get the unit out of the car without dismantling half of the car? When doing wiring mods under the dashboard or linking a new switch to the engine compartment, I have never found an easy way to dismantle things. So stripping out the fan unit strikes me as a major job. So advice would be welcome.
