  • Fuel level sensor

I am just finishing the fuel tank fitting and wondered what others have done regarding fitting the fuel tak sensor. It seems to me that the ally of the tank isn't really thick enough to provide a good fixing for screws, either self tappers or conventional. And if the seal isn't 100% petrol has an anoying habit of finding its way out. I can think of two options:
    1. Use some blind rivnuts (but I am not sure if you can get these in ally)
    2. Welding a thicker ring on the tank where the sensor fits and screwing it to that.

    Any suggestions?

      Hi Geoff
Did youe use blind rivnuts (with the end sealed) or just plain ordinary ones? I have been unable to track down any blind alluminium ones.

      Cheers

Hi Robin, I used standard rivnuts with a small amount of instant gasket for good measure.
