    Well, I thought I'd bite the bullet today and buy a new strut. Rang Earlpart (they're less than 10 miles from me) and they haven't got one
    PM'd a request to a couple of members who have some spares in the classified section but nowt back yet.

        Sorted! Picked up a leg from a breaker this afternoon, and fitted it tonight. With one 5mm pacer on I now have about 4mm of clearance With an original TRE it would be more, but the longer ones I fitted have slightly bigger rubber dust covers. I needed the spacer anyway or I would have to flatten the tab washers on the to swivel.
