        OK, so operation "move the petrol cap" has started. I've ordered the parts and I've removed the petrol cap and filler neck so that I can fill the old hole. Once I've got the new filler neck in place I wont be able to get behind the hole to fill it. Step one is to fix a piece of gauze in place to bridge the hole.

        Looking at the state of the inside of the tub you can see this has been a long term problem.
