    Pinto 2.0 sohc engine, rec cooling system pressure

    Hi all
    Someone tell me the recommended radiator cap pressure for the above lump!, mine's on its way out, but there is no discernable pressure marked - Haynes in uk I'm in France!

    My Sierra Haynes manual says this. Expansion tank cap pressure. 12.0 to 15.7 psi. 0.85 to 1.10 bar.

      The above is correct, most common 13lb.

        Thanks guys, used some wet and dry on it, traces of 10psi , so i'll try 13 see if there is a difference, however the current one is on its way out!

          the higher the pressure, the higher the boiling point of the coolant.

              Just thought 10psi a bit low and the cap is on its way out, 13psi more appropriate!
