petrol tank for my early YKC roadster. the original escort van tank has rotted clean through whilst the car was outside for 10 years.. now in a new home its running and stopping thanks to the availability of new stuff.. BUT the tank is holding up the project now. Aaron radiators list one but the manufacturer has gone AWOL and they dont expect to see any more ever.. so any alternatives has anyone tried the alloy rectangular tanks off ebay.. does a midget tank fit or is the a decent tank lurking in a shed on a shelf perhaps when it would be far happier under my car?

One of our members drew up an alloy replacement tank that was published in 'Pitstop' some years ago . Believe he then had a local fabricator produce said item. Anybody remember who?

If going the alloy route I would advise fitting a tank guard as well to protect it

i think if i have to go alloy i ll fabricate a steel 'cradle' to both mount and protect the rather thin alloy that seems to be in vogue

You could try asking one of the Morris minor suppliers what the dimensions are for the larger than standard replacement fuel tank. It is a very similar shape.

I have a escort van tank available. i was going to use it for something else but it wont fit.

Where are you based as collection would be the only option. I am near Reading.
