I am thinking of fitting a drain cock into the bottom radiator hose of my 2.0 ltr EFi DOHC setup. Has anyone done it? Before I go making one up out of plumbing bits and pieces there one on the market that anyone has used ?

What, and spoil the fun of "guess the right position for the bucket" when you pull the bottom hose off..?!Marlin Roadster, LWB...1860 B Series + Ford Type 9
Renault Espace 54mm front calipers, vented discs, cycle wings and adjustable tie-bars.

Re: Fitting a drain cock to rad bottom hose
Is the rad traditional brass & copper soldered together ? If so any reputable rad repairer will be able to add a drain plug to the bottom. They were common on cars at one time - remember them ? Normally a wing type nut so you didn't even need tools to drain coolant. I suspect a legacy from the days before antifreeze common and you had to drain the water out every night.
