Have found the series 3 land rover master cylinder along with a 139082 adaptor (to allow the existing hose to fit the new cylinder) all fits well - total cost of around £25
The push rod can be swapped from the old cylinder.
It also allows better clearance to fit the larger brake master and servo from the Peugeot 205.
Full road test when it stops pouring down!

Road test went very well - the brakes are much better with the Peugeot Servo and master cylinder (matching 19mm bore). As the cylinder has four outlets I have closed off one front and one rear outlet with bleed nipples and connected the remaining two to the existing balance valve - simple to do and effective.
The clutch feels just the same as the original - the Landrover master cylinder has same bore as the Marina
