    Door hinge

The driver's side door hinge on my Roadster has fractured - see attached photo.
Could anyone please advise how I can obtain a replacement?

    Thanks

Bit late now but thats why there is a grease nipple on the top. Some one may have a spare so suggest you put a request on the wanted threads . If nothing turns up you could have a go at straightening it and rewelding. Or find a friendly engineering shop to knock up a replacement.
The last seized one I saw snapped the pin off the chassis.

First thing I would do is give it a good soaking with freeing oil and try to get that grease nipple out and put some freeing oil down there as well, and then leave it a while hopefully with patience tapping and twisting it a little at a time it will come free and come off the pin. Then get it welded or get some mild steel and make one, good luck with it

Do you know which car the hinges came from? There are several companies that specialise in British sports car spares. Try Holden or Rimmer Bros.

According to other posts in this forum they are Marlin's own design.
I have seen similar but never the same.

If it's the same as fitted to my Roadster then you are welcome to one as I'm changing to suicide doors and A35 hinges (with Midget locks)

Thanks for the tips Ben. At least I should be able to save the other door hinge!

That is a very kind offer. It might be worth a try if I can't find one locally (I live in Bucks). Does it appear to be be the same type as in the photo that I posted?

                    Re: Door hinge

they are simply a piece of steel with a bit of tube welded on the side. Should be easy to get a replacement made. In fact, looking at that one I bet that once it is off you could grind out the weld and remake it. I have a brand new one on my shelf if you need dimensions (but its not for sale!).
