    Location for the ECU

Having sorted mounting the AFM I am now on to the next job - engine loom and ECU. The engine loom wants to pass thru' the bulkhead at the rear right (offside) of the battery tray. This would mean the least amount of "reforming" of the loom, but it also means I might not then be able to locate the battery on the tray. The ECU would then probably fit on the inside on the plate that foms the vertical side of the battery tray. I wondered wnat others have done - perhaps there is a better solution. I want to avoid remaking any part of the the engine loom unless its absolutley essential.

I have my loom coming up through the underside of the pedal box. My ECU is then mounted on the top side of the pedal box in the footwell, leaving the battery tray for the battery. I used the full BMW engine and car wiring looms and did not need to modify them in this area.
