    Ebay Berlinetta

Message originally posted by: Bob Molyneux
Hi all, Looking to buy a Marlin (finally), had to get all the other "jobs" out of the way first. I originally planned to purchase an older Berlinetta to restore back to glory but have just seen a un-started kit for sale on E bay.I would appreciate any sugestions at to the price i should realy pay for this. It is a Cortina based kit that has never been started but has passed hands a couple of times. If someone could call me I would be most appreciative (will call back to save costs) on 01744 816216 or 07985 806229. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Bob. I would proceed with caution as there may be problems getting a Berlinetta kit through an SVA, You would be better picking up a car which may need some work but is already registered and on the road. Unless a kit is registered with DVLA you may have trouble now all log books are new type. Don't give up though. My Berli is great fun. Liz

Thanks for the reply and advise Liz. That was originally the way i was going. Missed out on the un-started E-bay car anyway.
Anyone got a Marlin for sale that requires attention/reviving. I could ensure the seller the car would be going to a skilled, enthusiastic and meticulus new owner. Not realy looking for something turn-key, more something I could "personalise". Have built several Cobra kits and restored more classic cars than a few, all for other people. Now it's my turn. Love to hear from anyone whatever you have, as long as its a marlin.

Mery christmas to you all. Bob.

P.s Santa might bring me one :-)

Hi Bob, Liz Billings is spot on with her advice most unbuilt kits are used for spares or to rebuild a car that is already regd. Give me a ring I may be able to help.
