  • Breather assembly

Hi all. I have had the rocker cover cleaned and painted and in doing so noticed a hose was split so will replace it, it's a small one that leads to a flat breathe with a diaphragm. Question is do I need this bot of kit or can ot be modernised in some way it looks awful!
On rimmer Bros it's called stromberg cd150 on the 2.0 triumph engine.

I will post some pics in the forum soon of my interior revamp! Thanks

    Re: Breather assembly

Stromberg CD 150 is the carbs. What you are referring to is the crankcase emission control. This works by maintaining a negative pressure in the crankcase. If you do remove it the crankcase pressure may be too much for the oil seals. Don't connect the rocker cover direct to the inlet manifold as this will cause the engine to run too lean.

Reading this may help to understand how it works but then again may cause even more confusion.

Ben Caswell probably not the last word on anything here!!
