    Wiper Wheel boxes

The wipers had always had a narrow angle of sweep since I got the Roadster so I bit the bullet and stripped out the dashboard and eventually got the wiper wheel boxes out, one was almost seized in place and had a very stiff spindle, both had 40 tooth wheels.
I have a very good MG specialist close to me (Sussex Classic Car), took the offending articles along and found that the 32 tooth version is the MGB item. I now have wipers moving at twice the speed and over around 110 degree sweep all for £35.....

Sussex Classic Car are great, I struggle with their online shop, but as they are happy to send you catalogues, no real issue.

I have this problem. A 120 motor and 90deg sweep. Thanks for the suggestion. its a 'Day after tomorrow job' so I hadn't looked into it deeply.

This is a useful primer on the Lucas 14w wiper system.

If you want to update your 1970's wiper system to modern standards, have look at Smart-screen.

I have just found a 26? tooth wheel. and a 110deg motor. I have a 120deg motor . Next Question, what did I do with the other 3 wheelboxes I should have?

Day after tomorrow has come. Strip the dash, remove demister vent, remove wheelbox 40tooth. My 26 tooth box is 1/2" short! I'm going to have to BUY something. B....er

Ordered a 32 tooth wheelbox from SVC. Spent the rest of the day re-doing the wiring to the rear lights. Bullet connectors under the wings in the spray, no thank you!

I used Allegro wheelboxes on my Roadster, same dimensions as Marina but 32 tooth if I remember correctly.

I've ordered a 32tooth from SVC. I reckoned that the 27tooth would sweep the whole of my side of the screen but it's too short. Oh the joys of sorting other peoples builds.
