Unfortunately the established meeting venue, "The Bowling Green" pub at Charnock Richard is closed for four months for refurbishment.
For the next meeting at 1:30 on Saturday May 14th we are trying out "The Walton Fox" pub, Craven Drive (off Lostock Lane (the A6) opposite Sainsbury's), Bamber Bridge, Preston PR5 6BZ.

With the recent re-opening of the Bowling Green I advise that we will be returning to our established monthly venue.

The Bowling Green, after being fully refurbished and extended, is however attracting far more trade than previously. Whether this will remain so in the longer term is uncertain but be advised that both car parks are in use and a drive round to find a parking space may be more likely than parking together in the corner as previously. On the plus side they are keen to accommodate us and checking at 2pm on Saturday 10th showed that despite the number of customers the area where we normally sit was free, albeit in the “family” area of the hostelry. They are now more geared towards selling meals and prefer to “seat” customers who wish to dine, but selfless research has shown the standard of the carvery (still less than £10) is much improved!
