Got MOT and took well deserved first run.

Woohoo, took Brum for MOT this morning and passed with flying colours. Shot home, got tax and me and the missus went for our first ever run. My son Ewan followed behind in his car with a boot full of tools and a trolley jack

We went down the A82 and over to Helensburgh, stopped for drinks and to walk the dog (she was in Ewans car as I haven't figured out the best method to fit her in yet) and take in the stunning view.

Travel home through Cardross, a favourite haunt for some of you guys, and Dumbarton.

Pretty happy with the shake down as nothing fell off although there is a persistent rattle that I cannot trace from the NS. Pulled and hauled at everything spanners and sockets everywhere but nothing. I'll get it eventually.

Lots of trimming, fetteling and painting still to be done but a major step forward almost 3 years to the day after buying her.

Thanks guys, I think I'll enjoy driving for a while and then attempt to finish the interior at a later date. Winter project perhaps .
I think the H reg was obtained as the engine and gearbox are from a 1970 Alfa. I still have an original MOT. TBO the PO did all the donkey work.
The judge is out on the colour scheme. I was toying with going all blue but quite a few people have said leave as is.

Thanks again, maybe I should run a straw poll to see whether Brum should go all blue or remain as is with a wee freshen up. There are lots of chips and scrapes that can't be seen in the pics, 30 years of neglect I'm afraid.

As the owner of a '58 Landrover S1 and a 90's Roadster in original paint I go for patina, it's cheaper. BTW check out 1939 Alfa 8C for auction at Monterey, £20million !! Nice looker though.

Its not neglect, its called using the car for what it was made for!! "enjoying yourself"

Hi Ben, I'm with you on that. Unfortunately she was not used but rather shoved around in various storage locations being scratched and having various chemical spilled on her.

Still I'm keen to generate some patina of my own
