Re: Shock absorber id & bush source

Isn't there a list of alternative belts in one of the Roadster build manuals? Possibly worth a check. But there are many industrial suppliers that only identify belts by length, not by application. Is that what you have found?

Yes exactly - the Ashley power folks have 100s of belts of all sizes and I've ordered 2; and 825 & an 838mm length; the one fitted on the car is an 850 & I can't adjust it anymore & its slack. I'll post up my results...

Got back from a warm break in Majorca, one day back at work & then fitted the new alternator belt today, 838mm instead of the 850mm which was on and squealing away because I couldn't tighten it any more. Took a bit of 'persuasion' but the new belt is in & I now have it tight & a good 1" of alternator arm still unused so it'll be fine. Flat battery, charged up & started up, no squeal at all, very happy.
