Any suggestions how to get rid of algae on the hood?

Not that I've got green algae marks on the hood of the Roadster, but the wife has on her MX5.
I've googled it and Miltons sterilizing tablets seem a popular choice but they've not really cured it.
    Open to suggestions...
    Cheers, Gareth.

I cleaned my daughters VW beetle hood that had gone green with Mould and Mildew remover, It worked very well. Worth a try.

I'd be very careful using bleach - it could discolour the hood and it doesn't necessarily kill the spores. Mould and Mildew remover is good as is a product called Asipo Treatment from FLAG Paints Ltd. It is used to kill all mould, mildew. algae from walls, decking etc and I've used it on many other things such as hoods. You dilute it about 10:1 with water, then apply. It takes a few days to work but then you can clean the hood and reproof if necessary.

might be worth looking at what the caravan boys use to clean their awnings?
