    this motor was fitted to minis and other BMC small engined cars so shouldnt be difficult to find. Easy to have recondidioned by an auto electrician ...try here, they deliver worldwide. http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/

      Marinas had both an inertia starter or Pre-engaged starter both numbered M35J.
      A picture would help or a careful look at the parts list.

      1800TC, Unleaded ported head, stage 2 cam. Ford Type 9 gearbox, Dolomite Sprint rear axle fitted with MGF disc brakes.

                This is interesting - yours looks like a two bolt starter but the 25148 is a three bolt.
                If you have a three bolt then the part you need is LRS100 (Fitted to 76-79 cortina 1.3 adn 1.6)
                For the more common two bolt LRS00101 (lucas numbers). (this is fitted to all sorts of BMC cars)

                HOwever, as Steve says, you will need to count the teeth too.
