Marlin Sportster V8 TVR 4.5 | V-649LDV | Vehicle-History

Hi everyone,

a new member from Austria says "Hello" and is asking for some help.

A few weeks ago I successfully registered a fantastic Marlin Sportster, I aquired in 2012.

Now I would like to complete it's history and records for the time from 1999 to 2011.
(2012 it underwent a general overhaul at Marlin Cars.)

Here are the most important vehicle-data:
.) Reg.Nr. in UK: V-649LDV
.) 1st Reg in UK: 10/1999
.) Export to AT: 09/2012
.) Keepers in UK: 5-6 (?)

I found my Sportster in the photo gallery here on this site (page 4, pic 67):

and - I'm not sure, but year of registration and type of the engine are the same, perhaps once more (page 4, pic 63):

Maybe I've luck and anyone here has additional information about my Sportster for the time from 1999 to 2011.
Or... maybe I can find a former keeper here by chance, it's worth a try.

.) documents
.) mot-certs
.) invoices

and, of course:
.) pictures
.) videos

I would be appriciated about any information and response !

Hi Christoph
looks like a lovely car. If you can access this DVLA website from Austria then you will see the MOT history for your car. If you can not then let me know and I will try to get you a few screen captures.

https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk

just enter the uk reg number and Marlin for the make and you should see the full history.

Hi Jon,

thanks for the link, and yes, I can access this site, but unfortunately this database existst just since 2005...
And the record of my Sportster is very incomplete since 2005 (only one record about the odometer-reading in 2008).
Just test it out for yourself: V649LDV / Marlin (you have to type in the vehicle's make, it's not in the drop-down-list).

The Sportster is a fantastic car - nice, that you also like it !

I think your car was featured in Marlin advertising so I assume it was factory built.

The previous owner told me, that the Sportster was a factory built, but I wasn't sure, if he meant the first built in 1999 or rebuilt in 2012.
I also found the two pics in the web, and although the seats don't have the same colour, I think that it's the same car.
Furthermore Terry (from Marlin Cars) told me, that my Sportster was built for the London Motor Show.

It was back in the Marlin factory in July 2012

Between 1999 and 2012 (2011) there must have been about 4 more previous owners...
