Re: Stonleigh 2017
Louise and I dropped in, went in the modern Mini as the Marlin STILL has that leaky choke mechanism. Saw Adrian there (you were chatting so didn't interrupt!). Had a good look at the Berli's, funny as I get older they become more attractive, especially with a hard top!- 9th owner of T693 SSC possibly a factory built Ford based V8 Sportster

- 9th Custodian of JRR 929D, Triumph Vitesse based special Paul Moorehouse built prior to the Triumph Roadster kits.
- 8th owner of Roadster chassis number 2395. Now owned by Barry!
- Builder of chassis number 2325 (PKK 989M) in the mid 80's. Now owned by Eric & Lynne.

Re: Stonleigh 2017
I was tied up with trivia at home so couldn't make the whole Sat to Mon show. I decided to make it for Sunday though. I left home near Padstow at 0500 and had a good run, rainy at first, to a lovely sunny day at the Marlin stand by 0900.
The show had many more club cars of every kind unlike last year with empty stands. It was great to catch up with friends from last year.
I thought the bits, pieces and tool stands in the halls were not as prolific and well stocked as last year but the wallet was suitably raided none the less.
I left for home in Moll at 1800 and met stair rod rain at Evesham which lasted until near Bodmin. The M5 was almost flooded in the heavy rain with average traffic. Naturally the hood was down. My upper body stayed dryish but the dreaded Berlnetta shin shower started. Water was entering the wiper spigots and dripping behind the dash onto my left leg. This is a common snag with Berlis but I thought I had sealed them up. Clearly not. Boo ! It was only when I needed to change gear at the M5/A30 junction that I discovered my left shoe was full of water. It had drained down from my shin and poured into the shoe. Despite water possibly being close to the ECU the car ran faultlesly and we made it home into the dry garage at 2200. I am still surprised how the Berli holds the road on a soaking-wet surface. 550 mile round trip, well worth it.
Next trip...down France to Cahors and return in the company of a newish three wheel Morgan, a natty Grinall and a 1964 Sunbeam Alpine. (a rare one with an autobox)
Watch out for the fourteen wheels blog towards the end of June.
Happy Marlining allMarlin Berlinetta 2.1 Efi
