    Gearbox change A series Roadster

Hi folks. I have obtained a really good low mileage gearbox to replace the one fitted to my Roadster which has the usual poor 1st and reverse. I was just wondering if it has to be an engine out job also as the bracket for the rear gearbox rubber mount looks as if it won't allow sufficient upward movement. Any info on the procedure would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Scott.

Hi Scott, hope you're keeping well.

The thread above this is pertinent, however if you have a pit or can get the car high enough off the ground you may be able to pivot the engine/box on the front
mounts, and remove the box that way

I have roved the gearbox on its own a couple of times now and it is easy enough to do.
