What did you do with your rear springs?

    1) Marlin's advice - collapse the spring
    2) Get custom springs made - what specifications?
    3) Coil over conversion at the back - did you need to do any more structural work?

Hi Patrick. I tried Marks advice and collapsed the springs by approx 50mm. You do need access to oxy -acetylene gear to achieve the temperature. I found it to be a lot less daunting than it sounds, never having done anything like that. The car is not yet finished so I haven't tested the springs yet but they now seem to put the car at the correct height and allow the suspension to move. I thought it was worth a try as they came off the donor and were, therefore, "free"

Yeah, I just didnt like the spring collapsing idea from a safety point of view.

That and one of the rear springs from my donor had snapped!

Robin is putting together a group by on custom rear springs if your interested: http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/forum/showthread.php?t=551
