For mine the VIN matches he chassis number which surprised the MOT inspector as it's only 4 digits...

When I registered my Berli in 1993, I was issued with a new random chassis number because the Marlin one was too short.

Mine is in the list Q733 JKO, registration mark just about visible in the photo to the left and chassis number in my signature below.
