I've been trying to get the best from my i4 8v DOHC engine. It is not the Efi version, but the rarer carburetor version, with a new Weber which has improved things...driving through an MT75 manual box. It's still lumpy on tick-over and I'm advised that the valve timing may be off. In the process of eliminating all possible problems, if I were to "whip the head off" to check, then replacing it will require a new gasket....and to be confident of a satisfactory result, a serviced head with a new timing chain would also seem advisable. I've located a reconditioned head and timing chain and ordered a head set from BurtonPower but I'm worried that I may not have ordered the correct part...I think I read on here that there's a special up-rated head gasket that is said to have eliminated most of the over heating problems these engines were prone to and that this gasket is available from Burtons.....obviously I'm hoping I've ordered the right one....so does anyone have a part number? Also...are there any other parts it would be well to replace while I'm at it? Any / all advice would be gratefully received. Bill
