I know a few on here are fans of the Binky YouTube build so this may also be of interest. Gordon Murray (the McLaren man) wanted a Mk1 Escort, but not just any Mk 1 Escort; a full bare metal restored Escort updated with modern innards: a Cosworth build engine, independent rear suspension etc. These videos are by the people he commissioned to build it.

Re: Gordon Murray wants and updated Mk1 Escort
Could get interesting but not as funny as Binky
Not the next build episode but still entertaining to watch Binky unplugged 2

Re: Gordon Murray wants and updated Mk1 Escort
Goblin Works Garage on Quest did a semi decent update to a MkII Escort, and then totally lost my vote with what they did to a series 1 Landie, an MGB and a Datsun 260Z (could've have been a 280). Their ideas are just plain rubbish, they send out most of the real work to sub-contractors; then they ask stupid money for their half-cocked products.Originally posted by b_caswell View PostCould get interesting but not as funny as Binky

At least with Binky you can see the work being done totally in-house and its a quality job too. Plus its a quality little series with something being built on a reasonable budget.2000 Marlin Cabrio LWB; 2.0 L Burton Pinto in Ford Nightfire Red with Magnolia leather interior.

That's exactly it...and what appeals to this forum's members and many similar minded people. We like to see people make things, solve problems and be creative. Its one reason I don't watch Car SOS with Fuzz, by the end of the show, (after all the silly charades they go through) you end up with a new car and no idea of what has gone into it, or how! The new wheeler dealers is going that way, Ant is obviously a fantastic guy (and his work is second t none) but come on, he bends and fabricates his own exhaust with a massive tube bender in his workshop???..that's when it loses reality.Originally posted by wiggiesworld View PostGoblin Works Garage on Quest did a semi decent update to a MkII Escort, and then totally lost my vote with what they did to a series 1 Landie, an MGB and a Datsun 260Z (could've have been a 280).
