    Header Tank

Hi Guys. Does anyone have a radiator header tank on their DOHC 8V 2ltr. If so where is it located please - a photo would be great. When we returned from Stoneleigh I noticed that water was dripping from the radiator overflow pipe. Thanks

    Re: Header Tank

From the front of the car mine is on the right hand side of the bulkhead just to the right of the battery

Is your radiator single core ?, mine is and does overheat on occasions Coolex in Nottingham are doing a double core one for me now using the original housing and brackets

    Regards
    Dave

      Re: Header Tank

It all depends on who built the car.
My header is a metro item mounted on the N/S bulkhead.
I did initially have a problem with water loss because I had fitted a conventional filler in the top hose, but it vented through that before venting through the metro header tank. My radiator is a Marlin supplied item and worked fine when I had a DOHC engine fitted.

            Re: Header Tank

Hi, just for clarity, the header tank in the photo is from a Rover SD1 V8. I have had three over the years, and used one for my own Marlin V8 Cabrio build. The part is available from Rimmer bros ARH259 at a staggering £99. Hope this helps. Regards Mike.

That looks exactly the same as the Marina one.
Have you browsed "Radiator header tank" on eBay, there are loads at reasonable prices including some nice alloy ones.

Or try "Expansion Tank" on eBay in the cars section.
